Why should I go all the way out to Yumotokan from Kyoto?

We're only 20 minutes from Kyoto by train!

We will pick you up from JR Ogoto Onsen Station, JR Hieizan Sakamoto Station, Keihan Sakamoto Hieizanguchi Station, and Sakamoto Cable Sakamoto Station.

Kyoto has many World Heritage sites and Important Cultural Properties including "Fushimi Inari Shrine," which is famous for the thousands of red Torii Gates, "Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion)," a stunning gold temple, "Kiyomizu Temple," which is built on a cliff with a beautiful view over the city, and "Sanjusangen-do" which is famous for its 1,001 statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy. The temple hall is with 120 meters Japan's longest wooden structure.

In the Lake Biwa area there are also many lovely tourist spots, including Biwako Valley, where you can enjoy a majestic panoramic view of Lake Biwa from the sky, the impressive-looking Shirahige-jinja Shrine with its vermilion torii gate rising from the lake, and Hieizan Enryakuji Temple, the head temple of the Tendai sect, which is registered as a World Heritage Site. It's a place where you can enjoy seasonal landscapes throughout the year, like cherry blossoms in spring, green cherry trees in summer, red leaves in autumn, and snowscapes in winter.

After experiencing Japanese history and culture while sightseeing in Kyoto and the Lake Biwa area, return to Yumotokan and fully rest your body and soul in the hot spring baths.

Taste kaiseki cuisine made with seasonal ingredients.
We have various room types to match your budget, including Japanese-style rooms, Japanese/Western-style rooms, rooms with en-suite open-air baths, and suites.
Enjoy our Japanese-style hot spring resort.
